Wiz Khalifa Smokes Imaginary Joint at Pittsburgh Pirates Game

Wiz Khalifa SmokesOn Wednesday, rapper Wiz Khalifa was selected to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Pittsburgh Pirates’ game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. But the rapper wore a shirt that read “Legalize It” and smoked an imaginary joint, leading to an official statement from Major League Baseball that condemned his actions.

Major League Baseball officials were not impressed with Khalifa’s imaginary joint at a family event and immediately issued a statement to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review contributor Rob Biertempfel via Twitter calling the situation “unfortunate.”  * The word “probated” probably should be “prohibited.”

The very next day, Khalifa didn’t seem took shook up about the backlash for his appearance at the Pittsburgh Pirates’ game. He spoke of cannabis at the Thrival Innovation music festival in Pittsburgh. “I see it being like alcohol or something that’s more acceptable and accessible for the people,” Khalifa told a crowd Thursday at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh. “There’s edibles, there’s oils, there’s vapes and all of that different stuff. Just with the way technology changes, peoples’ minds change on how we are actually using it. I think that’s really going to revolutionize it and make it stand out.”

Wiz Khalifa first hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Black and Yellow,” which was about Pittsburgh’s signature black and gold sports team colors that adorn his car. Wiz Khalifa once graced the cover of CULTURE Magazine, telling us that cannabis “plays a huge role in the everyday mechanics of my life.” Khalifa’s signature strain Khalifa Kush (KK) is available in Colorado, Nevada and Arizona.
