Silver Lake’s indie music cred runs as deep as Elliot Smith’s bi-polar meds . . . hey, I’m just kidding. Considering the fact that this hipster L.A. neighborhood’s proven to be a stomping ground for folks like Beck and the Silversun Pickups, it should come as no surprise that it can boast about having its own signature “block party” type of event called Sunset Junction. Part street fair, part neighborhood empowerment—but you’re coming here for the music, right? The lineup for this 31st annual event will include the Butthole Surfers, the Melvins, Ozomatli, Art Brut, Natalia Kills, Lady Danville, Bobby Womack and Peaches, who is slated for a DJ set.
