Never before has there been a better time to attend cannabis-related networking events. The Cannabis Career Fair will be held from 11am to 3pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Prepare yourself, and come dressed for success.

The event will be located at the Convention Center at 1201 South Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles, California. Many employers are straying away from the dated stoner stigma and expect job candidates to dress like they are applying for a job in any other industry.

The fair is sponsored by Colorado-based Vangst Talent, a talent agency focusing on the cannabis industry. Vangst Talent was founded by Karson Humiston, a young female entrepreneur. Vangst is now expanding to the Los Angeles area.

“I can’t tell you how many people I have who tell me, ‘I want to get a job where I can work with weed,'” Humiston told VICE Broadly recently. “And these companies, they get flooded with people who are so passionate about cannabis and want to work with the plant but really don’t have the hard skills necessary to do the job.”

Humiston started Vangst Talent as an undergrad after her travel business evolved into a cannabis-centric business. Now, she’s connecting job candidates with established and growing cannabis companies in the area.

Some of Vangst’s executive level job offerings pay six digits for those who qualify. Cannabis companies that are hiring at Saturday’s event include Honey Farms, Green Dragon, Mary Jane University, The Cannabis Career Institute, Presto Doctors, Students for a Sensible Drug Policy, 831 Organiks, The Cannabis Training Institute, Kalogia, Nerve and The Edibles List.

Be sure to bring everything on the checklist including your recommendation and/or licenses, ID, and your resume.
