Grammy Award-winning musician and activist Melissa Etheridge has a new canna-brand that will include products, flowers, edibles and lotions for the mainstream masses, and is poised to hit collectives and shops by the end of the year.

“Seventy years ago it was on pharmacy shelves, now it’s time to get back to that; to understand plant medicine,” the 55-year-old singer/songwriter and breast cancer survivor told Billboard.

We are all too familiar with the amazing and constantly sold out wine tincture made by Etheridge, but this new venture for the musician is looking extremely promising as well. She says that she’s aiming her company toward consumers that just want to unwind at night and substitute cannabis products for alcohol or prescriptions to wind down. Etheridge believes that all cannabis use is medicinal, and she is a strong believer in its healing abilities as well as its ability to help manage stress and restore balance.

With her budding company, Etheridge Farms, she can see the potential for people just like her. As seniors’ access is expanding to include more conventional, non-smokeable forms of cannabis products like topicals, edibles and tincture, the market is growing rapidly, and older people report some of the highest rates of cannabis use, second to young men. Etheridge Farms will have fantastic pain-reducing and anti-inflammatory balms and oil cartridges, as well as the more traditional flowers and edibles.

Since Etheridge is also releasing her 14th studio album in October, we are getting ready for a wonderful, mainstream product line from this musical maven.
