[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]I[/dropcap]f you aren’t familiar with Snoop Dogg’s music, you definitely know his modus operandi (you could say he’s a pretty prominent figure in the cannabis space). Now the pop culture icon is diving deeper into the publication world.

On Aug. 22, the infamous ’90s rapper plugged his new cookbook in a tweet shared amongst his followers.

No stranger to the kitchen (he made an appearance on the Martha Stewart Show in 2008), Snoop’s forthcoming book, From Crook to Cook, will hit shelves on Oct. 23 thanks to publisher Chronicle Books. However, brace yourself for the unexpected: Rather than a plethora of cannabis-infused recipes, readers can expect 50 of his favorite recipes, which includes dishes such as baby back ribs, lobster thermidor, baked mac & cheese and chicken & waffles. And, yes, a gin and juice cocktail is in the mix.

Snoop is also a co-host on VH1’s weekly cooking competition show, “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party,” where the two host themed potluck-style dinner parties with a slew of celebrity guest appearances, including Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, Seth Rogen, Ashley Graham and Kathy Griffin.

While exciting, Snoop isn’t the first rapper to showcase his culinary creations. Fellow hip-hop icon, Coolio, has published, Cookin’ with Coolio, and 2 Chainz has issued the 28-page, #MealTime, while Action Bronson is well-known for hosting the web series, “Fuck, That’s Delicious.

After the release of From Crook to Cook, Chronicle Books is also collaborating with Snoop Dogg and his cannabis-company, Merry Jane, for a line of cannabis-themed books. Fans can expect a 2020 release.
