[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]P[/dropcap]astor Craig Gross of XXXchurch located in Pasadena California, launched a new venture on April 20 called Christian CannabisTM which aims to inform Christian church members about the blessings that cannabis can provide.

Society is viewing cannabis in a new light, and that includes Christian denominations that no longer see it as a negative influence in daily life. Gross first introduced the concept at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which coincided with the Easter weekend this year. “I went to Coachella and saw one of my favorite artists that I’ve ever seen and I used marijuana before seeing him. It was amazing,” Gross told The Christian Post. “I’ve never lifted my hands in a worship service ever, ‘cause I was raised Baptist . . . I’ve done that in my bathroom worshiping with marijuana by myself.”

In the past, Gross has helped members of his congregation overcome various hurdles, such as pornography addiction. XXXchurch has been featured on TEDx and CNN, among other places, based off of its innovation programs.

After consulting with over 20 specialists, Gross resorted to medical cannabis in 2013 to reduce chronic migraines. Medical cannabis worked better for reducing migraine-related pain than pharmaceuticals. His latest project is to help inform church members about the spiritual benefits of cannabis.

Gross admitted that not everyone is ready to fully embrace cannabis. “The audience that I’m talking to [is] in states outside of California like Michigan, where we’re now getting recreational. They don’t know what to think. They’re going, ‘I don’t know. I don’t know enough. This is wrong for so many years, now it’s right, I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to feel,” Gross said.

According to Gross, his interest in cannabis has caused some associates to question his faith, but he has no plans of giving up now. Although some plans are still up in the air, Gross hopes to eventually roll out a line of cannabis products on his website.
