Musician Chad King was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis nine years ago, and he was originally told by his doctors that he would be paralyzed in seven years. With a holistic and nutrition-based regimen, King has conquered his health battles, and he has gotten so much support from people who have battled against their diseases with health and holistic healing, he has gone viral. His band, A Great Big World, has released a song entitled “Won’t Stop Running” that King wrote in response to his doctor’s negativity and diagnosis. The band has created an entire website for #wontstoprunning, in an aim to create a space that people from all over the world can share their stories about fighting their diseases and empower each other to generate real positive change.

“When I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007, my doctor said that if I didn’t take the medication he prescribed there was a good chance that I’d be paralyzed within seven years,” Chad tells People. “This song was my response to the narrow-minded medical professionals of the world who just hand out medicine with no attention to diet and lifestyle.”

He adds that “won’t stop running” has become his mantra, and he hopes this song will “show the power of the human body and its ability to heal itself.”

The musician, who won a Grammy in 2015 for his and bandmate Ian Axel’s song “Say Something” with Christina Aguilera, explains that he hopes to create awareness for MS through the tune, as well as “show the power of the human body and its ability to heal itself.”

Cannabis is a common natural medicine for multiple sclerosis patients. And, although there have not been enough studies or evidence to always expect cannabis to help every MS patient every time, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society endorses and supports patients who want to treat their symptoms or progression with cannabis as medicine. Many MS patients have documented that juicing the leaves gives them daily cannabinoid support for their MS, with CBD, THCa and CBN being extremely helpful, and you can get those cannabinoids from simply juicing the raw leaves. Other patients have found solace in cannabis extract and oral sprays, as well as more traditional ways of ingesting cannabis.

The National MS Society even stated that “oral cannabis extract and synthetic THC (tetrahydrocannabinol—a major active component of cannabis) are effective for reducing patient-reported symptoms spasticity and pain, . . . Sativex oral spray (GW Pharmaceuticals) is effective for improving patient-reported symptoms of spasticity, pain and urinary frequency.”

We hope that Chad King’s story, his #wontstoprunning campaign and the viral nature of his song help others to consider a plant-based holistic regimen to treat MS naturally.
