Brand Officer)

What’s the story behind the name
of your dispensary?

Just being here in Portland and being medicinally based, we wanted to
have medical in the name, and since we are a private, membership-based club,
that’s where the club comes from.

What does your dispensary offer
patients that they can’t find anywhere else?

Something we’re really excited about is that we have a really
knowledgeable staff, so we will be offering patient consultation that will
basically help patients understand what medicine is best suited for their
ailments. Then going from there, we help patients decide what ingestion process
is going to work well, if they have Crohn’s, things are going to react with
their CB2s, rather than if you’re dealing with someone with PTSD you’re going
to want to touch on their CB1s and what strain profiles, and then from there,
maybe edibles are going to work versus vaporizing, using some of the
concentrates—that kind of thing. Just a lot of things with this market
developing the way that it is, we are seeing a lot of new folks that have a lot
of questions, so we are excited to able to offer that service to people.

How has the cannabis industry
changed since you’ve been in the business?

I’ve been here for nearly a year and in that year
we’ve seen a lot of changes with regulations, like the House Bill 3460 passing
and the Senate Bill 1531, placing a lot of regulation on how we test the
medicine, how we’re labelling it, packaging it, making sure everything is
accounted for. Those were things where we were operating in the gray area prior
to that, but now things are very concrete. A lot of people who work in our club
were craving that kind of direction, and they were happy to see these were
things we were doing already and now it’s being implementing to keep patients
safe, I think we’re really excited to know how to best serve our patients based
on these regulations.
