TICAL Official, the cannabis brand created by rapper Method Man, has announced the newest launch of preorders for the brand’s popular cannabis storage cases.

The storage cases are made in partnership with Apothecarry Brands and have been seen on the Drink Champs podcast and have been used by other rappers like Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Nas and Snoop Dogg. The latest drop of cases features a honeycomb design, Method Man autographed certificate of authenticity, a combination lock in addition to other features, and is expected to begin shipping in Spring 2024.

“This is more than just a storage box, it feels like a movement,” said Nathanial “Nutta” Vereen, co-founder at TICAL Official. “The project promotes giving and positivity and we literally cannot keep them in stock. We’re proud to open sales again to everyone.”

“Partnering with Method Man and the TICAL Official team has been incredible,” said Whitney Beatty, CEO at Apothecarry Brands. “A lot goes into making these handmade cases perfect for cannabis storage and I’m so proud to see them appreciated by consumers. We’re getting more inquiries about what we do and people who are looking to buy it from us. We’re truly excited to keep going.”

Through a partnership with CLOVR, TICAL Official products were made available in Viola-branded dispensaries in St. Louis near the end of October 2023, beginning with TICAL 1G pre-rolls in three varieties, the Iron Lung, The Method and Love Jones. Multipacks of pre-rolls and infused pre-roll products are planned for rollout in the state soon after.

“Representation for the culture and community is one of our biggest priorities at Viola,” said Viola CEO and former 16-year NBA star Al Harrington. “I’m eager to help support my brother and friend, Method Man, as he expands to Missouri and continues to grow the TICAL Official brand.”

The launch of TICAL Official products in Missouri followed the launch of the brand’s products in New York through a partnership with Central Processors NY and Adirondack Hemp Company in September 2023. Central Processors launched their line of pre-rolls and edibles products as well as Love Jones pre-rolls and edibles, under the TICAL Official brand launched at select retailers across the state of New York.

“New York State’s adult-use market is very significant for TICAL—our New York roots run deep,” said TICAL co-founder and COO Joshua “Raz” Rassin. “Everyone on the TICAL team is either from, or based in New York. Method Man’s career started in the streets of New York and he has been consuming and advocating for cannabis his entire life and career. There has been data that suggests New York is the number one consumer of cannabis in the world and it always felt that way growing up. It has been through cannabis, culture and hip hop that the TICAL founders were brought together and all of us being from New York is a huge part of that. At the end of the day we are humbled to bring adult-use product to our home state.”

The Wu-Tang Clan member launched his cannabis brand in 2020 with an aim to spark conversations about social injusticies. The name of the brand comes from the title of his 1994 debut solo album, Tical, an acronym for “Taking Into Consideration All Lives.” The brand’s initial product launch was only made available at four black-owned cannabis dispensaries in California.

“Personally, it is essential that we use our brand to help bring awareness to the social, systemic and economic injustice in communities that have struggled with oppressive mass incarceration and racially-biased policing procedures,” said Method Man in a statement.
