Cannabis-infused Cooking Show Coming to Netflix

After Netflix’s cannabis-themed sitcom Disjointed was unexpectedly canceled, it appears that the streaming service decided to find another cannabis-related replacement. With cannabis’ presence increasing at a rapid pace, especially in food culture, Netflix decided that a new and creative cannabis-infused cooking theme show is the next big thing.
Cooking On High, which is set to premier June 22, is “the first-ever competitive cannabis cooking show, two chefs prepare mouthwatering marijuana-infused dishes for a panel of very chill celeb judges,” Netflix stated about the upcoming show.
The show will be hosted by YouTube sensation and comedian Josh Leyva who is known for wacky challenges, goofy dances and hilarious comedic sketches. Also, joining Leyva is comedian, cannabis activist and co-host of Cannabis Planet, Ngaio Bealum, who will serve as the show’s culinary cannabis aspect. According to Cleveland Scene, a total of 17 celebrity judges will be featured on the show during its first season.
Season 1 will feature a total of 10 professional chefs who will craft dishes that are both innovative and delicious, which will be taste-tested by four celebrity judges. The catch? All dishes must include cannabis.
It will feature two chefs that go head-to-head at a single time, making cannabis-infused dishes based on the episode’s theme using a specific strain. Chefs will have to master the art of decarboxylation and the extraction of THC to guarantee the dishes are as delicious and they are potent.
The show’s trailer has yet to be revealed, and details about the challenges that competitors will face also remains a secret.
