Willie Nelson has his own cannabis line called “Willie’s Reserve,” and his son Micah Nelson has joined the Board of Directors for The National Hemp Organization. Now its Willie Nelson’s wife’s turn to get a piece of the action in the cannabis industry as well. Annie Nelson recently launched “Annie’s Edibles,” to supplement her husband’s budding national enterprise. Her product line will begin with artisan chocolates, which are being piloted in Washington.

All of Annie’s Edibles are gluten-free, vegan and made using 100 percent raw ingredients, according to a press release. Willie Nelson says “my stash is your stash,” and Annie’s Edibles operates similarly. Her chocolate products are created using the whole-plant cannabis extraction process, so consumers get the full spectrum of cannabinoids.

“I make my infused chocolates for people who want to enjoy gourmet cannabis chocolate in a controllable way,” Annie Nelson said. “It’s important that my chocolates are suitable for those with diet restrictions—whether someone is vegan, has Celiac Disease or gluten allergies, requires a low or balanced sweetener diet or if they have a low tolerance to cannabis they can still enjoy the benefits of my infused chocolates.” Coconut palm sugar is used instead of table sugar because it is “lower on the glycemic index” and more suitable for those with dietary restrictions. Each piece of the Annie’s Infused Chocolate is infused with a five milligram dose of THC. Like any edible, it takes about 90 minutes to feel the full effects.

The Nelson family has been heavily involved in cannabis enterprises as soon as they were able. Willie Nelson recently showed support for Nate and Nick Diaz’s line of pre-rolls released by California’s Finest, as well as launching his own line of pre-rolls, his signature “Ready Rolls” under the Willie’s Reserve umbrella. If you live in Washington, you can be the first to try Nelson’s confections at a variety of locations.
