Past telling has it that the White Buffalo name for the strain came from Native American mythology wherein a beautiful young woman presented the Lakota people with a sacred pipe and turned into a white buffalo calf when she left, becoming a symbol of sacred life and abundance. The only connection to this story and cannabis is that Native Americans used these pipes when cannabis arrived in their part of the new world in the mid-1800s. Unfortunately White Buffalo wasn’t available then. If it was they would have noted a light fresh pungent kush aroma wafting up from a spear like nug covered in a dense mixture of milky and clear trichomes. A pronounced upper and mood elevator at first, it slowly, almost imperceptivity, drifts down to mellow relaxed state. Mundane tasks become more pleasant. The White Buffalo found at the Amsterdam’s Gardens in San Jose qualifies for cannabis mythology.
