Welcome to the world of the 21st century where
just about every small business has a website. Practically anyone can open up a
browser and find information and reference points to literally anything, including
cannabis.

Companies like weedmaps and
Leafly have launched to create efficient
ways to search for cannabis. Info about seeds, edibles, plants, and of course
buds are stored into large databases, all in an effort to make it easier to
acquire medical cannabis. Yet, these websites are not the only ones out there
that provide services for the cannabis industry.

As more and more cannabis is being produced, and as additional
businesses are being founded, an obvious need for web development arises. Those
new companies who are diving into this industry must be able to reach their
target audience.

This is where web developers come in. With their keen
technological skills, they are able to assist with the creation of all things
digital. This includes websites, databases, mobile apps, e-commerce platforms,
server hosting, marketing, and advertisements.

A great example of a business that caters specifically to
the cannabis crowd is the Southern California-based company 420 Web Pros. They provide web services for
dispensaries, testing facilities, large scale wick manufacturers, delivery
companies, clothing stores, and much much more. They occasionally work with
non-cannabis related organizations, but their focus is primarily on the
marijuana movement. This puts them in a nice, niche market that has vast
potential for extreme growth, especially since additional states are jumping
onto the idea of cannabis legalization.

We wanted to find out more about the increase in web
development companies that deal specifically with marijuana, so we reached out
to the Dan, the owner of 420 Web Pros in a brief phone interview. The company
has been running since 2009 and back then, they really had no competition.
However, now that the market has opened up, other web developers have begun to
see the opportunities associated with working with cannabis companies.

At about any given time, 420 Web Pros has anywhere from 5-10
projects happening, which means there is always something to do. Their team consists
of designated project managers with additional developers just like any other
web development company. The difference is the market that they are in.

Another fantastic organization in the cannabis web
development trade is Delta Nine Media
who is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. They also provide web design and search
engine optimization too.

As medical cannabis becomes widely available, other cannabis
web development companies will be created to meet the demand. Furthermore,
additional cannabis-specific businesses are bound to be founded.

Overall, web developers who are catering to the marijuana industry
have a strong grasp of the upcoming innovations in cannabis-related technology.
They are able to see what the future holds and give the businesses what they
need in order to reach out further into their communities. Those that do it
well will surely gain the loyalty of those who benefit from their services.
