The whole “New Year, New You” sentiment inspires many people to do things they normally wouldn’t. (i.e. make healthy choices, go out on a limb more often, get outside of your comfort zone, and experience new things in life). If there’s one thing that reminds us of how fast time is passing, it’s the realization that there are seemingly countless places in the world that we have yet to visit. With cannabis being legalized, or at least decriminalized, in more countries as the months progress, 2018 is looking to be the year to travel to those places on your bucket list. Here’s a top list of cannabis friendly locations in the world to check out this year!

California

This one is a no-brainer. California just legalized cannabis for adult-use, which went into effect just one day ago. While the state will still have kinks to work out, there is already a list of established cannabis businesses that are allowed to sell. This includes many businesses located in the Bay Area, San Diego, and Palm Springs to name a few. These are all hot spots for vacationers looking to relax or explore what this massive state has to offer.

Uruguay

This country has been making some major strides for cannabis, especially last summer when it finally implemented its recreational cannabis program. The country has even surpassed the U.S. in terms of finding a banking solution for the industry. More importantly though, the South American gem is the perfect setting for consuming cannabis on a beautiful beach in a warm climate.

Las Vegas, Nevada

When people refer to cannabis in Nevada, it’s mainly in regards to the hub of all tourism in the state—Las Vegas. Whether you’ve visited this city many times before or its your first, everything changes when you can legally imbibe. Not to mention that convenience is taken to a whole new level with the state’s brand-new drive-thru dispensaries!

Prague, Czech Republic

Like Amsterdam, the Czech Republic is a central hub for cannabis business. Every year in November, the city of Prague plays host to Cannafest—one of the world’s most populated and informative cannabis trade shows. While there, experience some of the country’s rich history too.

Barcelona, Spain

Spain has long been a contender to take over Europe as the destination that rivals Amsterdam’s popularity. The arrival of cannabis clubs in Barcelona specifically at least help make this country one you have to visit if you’re looking for a place to vacation.
