Aspiring entrepreneur and Canadian environmental activist Derek
Kesek is set to begin working on a project— that if successful— will undoubtedly
put cannabis into top spot as the innovative alternative with the capacity to
change the world. This one man’s vision of making a 36 foot wing spanned, twin-propeller
plane out of hemp— as well as flying on hemp oil fuel— should soon be taking
off into the skies, and pushing humanity further away from non-renewable
resources.

Teaming up with a Florida based airplane manufacturer, they
are attempting to create another landmark moment in the history of aviation right
in Kitty Hawk N.C. where the Wright brothers first took flight. Derek hopes to—
within a year’s time— construct a fully functioning airplane running on hemp
fuel that would be  made of 75% hemp based
material sincluding its wings, outer shell, seats and even right the pillows.

Before committing to the proposal, both sides took the
all-important step of making sure that the hemp based materials could sustain
the level of quality needed to endure the stressful conditions of flight.  So, they tested the strength and durability
of their woven hemp material against the current competitor of fiberglass, and
in most every case it proved to be equal to or better than the fiberglass while
making a  much smaller carbon footprint
to boot.

As the project progresses forward he’ll be going online in
order to continue funding the expected price tag of $500,000. He is hoping that
the public’s excitement over his ambitious project will bring in the money needed
to take cannabis to new heights.  If all
goes according to plan, he will not only succeed in getting his dream into the
air, but in getting cannabis into the history books.
