Denver DispensaryWe’re getting ready to round off the last few celebrations of the holiday season, which means the spirit of giving is still alive and well across the nation. In Denver, Colorado, one cannabis company is embracing the season of altruism by offering ounces for just one penny to patients in need.

According to a release, “LivWell Cares is LivWell Enlightened Health’s philanthropic and community engagement arm. LivWell Cares is designed to work hand in hand with the community development. Whether it’s neighborhood clean-up activities, charitable drives, participating in community events, or just being there to support our friends in need, we are committed to helping however we can.”

LivWell will be sponsoring a promotion that enables medical cannabis patients who are in need to obtain an ounce of high CBD cannabis in exchange for one penny. American Medical Refugeees and CannAbility Foundation are two other organizations partnering with the cause to identify which patients could benefit the most from this wonderful promotion.

John Lord is the CEO and owner of LivWell Enlightened Health. Lord shared how excited he is to participate in this movement of spreading healing and positive holiday vibes. “It is my hope that these penny ounces might help bring some holiday cheer to thousands of families in need of medicine this holiday season,” Lord said. “We are honored to be working with such terrific organizations that have helped us identify deserving medical patients who will get the most benefit from this project.”

Stacey Linn, the Director of the CannAbility Foundation shared why this movement is important to her organization, “No one should have to choose between buying food or the medicine they need, especially during this time of year.” The Founder of American Medical Refugees, Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hiterbran, also shared the reason for her organization’s involvement. “Our patients came to Colorado in order to legally access the medicine they need for themselves and their families,” Bourlon-Hiterbran said. “They have given up so much and are so financially drained. Providing this medicine to patients for just one penny will help improve the quality of life for thousands of patients this holiday season.”

Qualified patients were able to start purchasing their penny ounces on Wednesday, December 21. This is not the first time LivWell Cares has given back to the cannabis community, and we are confident it will not be its last.
