Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay Ice Cream Launches New Flavor for 4/20

Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay Ice Cream has announced its first new flavor of 2024 and a new “holiday” to complement cannabis’s biggest day of celebration.

After launching last July with its first collection of flavors including Tropical Sherbet Swizzle, Iced Out Orange Cream, Syrupy Waffle Sundaze and S’more Vibes, Dr. Bombay Ice Cream debuted the new “Strawberry Cream Dream,” the first of three planned new flavor releases for 2024. The new flavor combines strawberry sherbet and vanilla ice cream with swirls of strawberry jam and blended with golden sandwich cookies.

To go along with the new flavor the brand declared April 19th “Dr. Bombay Day,” a new “holiday” created by the brand meant for stocking up on snacks in preparation for the festivities of 4/20. The rapper celebrated the new holiday with a get together at his compound in Inglewood, California that featured celebrity friends of the rapper and showcased the latest offering from Dr Bombay Ice Cream. Guests were also gifted with a pair of shoes from the latest drop from the Snoop Dogg and Skechers collection developed exclusively for 4/20.

“I love my munchies, especially my Dr. Bombay Ice Cream. I am declaring 4/19 Dr. Bombay Day—be sure to hit the store and tell them Dogg sent you,” said Snoop Dogg in a statement.

Retailers stocking Dr. Bombay products are also set to offer special promotions such as 4 for $20 deals at all Kroger banners, Safeway, Albertsons, and Jewel Osco in select cities, and 4 for $20 at Shoprite and 2 for $10 (or 4 for $20) at Publix. The brand recently expanded into stores under the Publix and Kroger banners.

Dr. Bombay Ice Cream is a collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Happi Co. that began as a spin-off from his NFT avatar, Dr. Bombay, as well as a case of the munchies. Dr. Bombay is the first product under Bosslady Foods, the parent company to Dr. Bombay Ice Cream that was created through the collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Happi Co.

Although the Dr. Bombay Ice Cream products don’t contain any THC or CBD, Snoop Dogg has entered the cannabis edible space with both food and beverage products. In 2022, Snoop Dogg launched a cannabis-infused take on Funyuns, his favorite snack, in a partnership with TSUMo Snacks called Snazzle Os. Near the end of 2023, Snoop Dogg announced the launch of Do It Fluid, a new line of THC and CBD-infused cannabis beverages.

“We acknowledge that not everyone wants to smoke or even vape to get high,” said Snoop Dogg during the Do It Fluid launch. “Drinking is something most people are already familiar with, and you’re completely right in that it complements our already existing line of smokeables with DRR with a ‘smokeless’ alternative.”

Cannabis delivery service Doobie collaborated with Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream in New York to celebrate 4/20 with their own frozen treat by creating a limited-edition flavor available exclusively for DoorDash customers. Customers who ordered a pint of Morgenstern’s ice cream on DoorDash received a coupon for free delivery from Doobie and a complimentary pint of “Doobie Scoobie Snacks”—a cornflake ice cream with peanut butter, graham cracker and caramel crunch.

“This collaboration with Morgenstern’s is a celebration of how far the cannabis industry has come and where it’s headed,” said Jessica Powell, Doobie’s co-founder. “Bringing cannabis together with New York’s famous food scene on such a notable scale for 420 shows societal norms are evolving. We wanted to pay homage to classic munchies while crafting a flavor that combines great taste with a touch of playfulness, perfect for cannabis enthusiasts and ice cream lovers alike.”
