Saul Williams does it all: he’s a poet, musician and performance extraordinaire but most of all he can only describe himself as “an artist.” Many might know him by his hybrid use of both poetry and hip-hop; others through his 1998 indie film Slam which won the Sundance Festival Grand Jury Prize. Recently Williams saw the release (on the famed 11/11/11) of his new album Volcanic Sunlight. CX Kidtronik on the other hand began his roots in the hip-hop electro boogie band business which led to a collaboration between these two talented entities. This collaboration continues with this L.A. performance scheduled for the El Rey. With one artistically driven poet and another equally talented artist—who just happens to have a weakness for Mohawks and odd, futuristically inspired sunglasses—this duo is about to drop some musical knowledge on your head.
