Queer-Founded Cannabis Brands Team Up For Pride Sweatshirt to Benefit BIPOC Brands

Attention all queer cannabis connoisseurs: What better way to celebrate your love for cannabis and embrace your Pride than with a fun look, with proceeds that benefit great causes and brands?

In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, three LGBTQ-founded cannabis brands are looking to give folks another way to display their Pride in style this June. Cann, Drew Martin and Sonder have created a limited edition sweatshirt featuring the cheeky message “Parade Me Around” as a way to show support and Pride for the LGBTQ community year-round.

This trio of brands teamed up to create the sweatshirt, which is also meant to give back to LGBTQ-inclusive, BIPOC-led cannabis brands. They worked to ensure that each brand was represented within the designs, which were done in collaboration with a queer artist.

The Cann store states, “Because as we continue to destigmatize cannabis, our goal is to center intersectional, queer faces, bodies and voices this Pride. Oh, and you can also crop it, if it fits your fantasy.”

Specifically, $15 from each sweatshirt purchased will be donated to three brands: Supernova Women, a space for women of color in cannabis to empower people of color to become shareholders in the cannabis world; Copper House Detroit, an inclusive space for travelers; and Pot Studio LA, a people of color owned-and-operated pottery studio.

The campaign was born from a concept Cann customers embraced when the company launched in June 2019: a customer would receive a complimentary pink graphic Cann sweatshirt for anyone who produced a receipt from the store showing proof of purchase of a Cann six-pack. The deal was part of the reason the new brand was so successful in its first several months of operation.
The special-edition Pride sweatshirt launched June 1 and is available now nationwide. Find the Prideful pieces on the Cann online store here.
