If a strain sounds like an old-school wrestling move, odds are we want to try
it. Top shelf? More like top rope when it comes to the Oak Town Crippler from
Aurora’s Terrapin Care Station. The first thing we noticed when opening the jar
is how funky it smelled: Funky in the best way. It’s almost like body odor left
on an unwashed leotard after a grueling cage match, but if someone had lit
incense in the locker room to cover it up. The excellently manicured buds have
the perfect amount of amber to them and much more closely resemble the
Trainwreck genetics than the Blue Moonshine. A true 50/50 hybrid, the effects
tend to skew indica as Trainwreck is a notoriously strong sativa. It’s like the
ultimate warrior: Small, but strong. And a lot of bright orange. If there was a
championship belt for pain relief, with a little energy for the trip home, we’d
give it to the Oaktown Crippler.
