Police authorities
in Denver and Pueblo have been working with the state Marijuana Enforcement
Division to conduct police stings on local dispensaries. Twenty undercover
compliance checks were performed trying to catch dispensaries selling to
someone under the age of 21, and no dispensaries were caught. In the state of
Colorado, anyone over the age of 21 may purchase recreational cannabis and
medical dispensaries can legally sell to people under 21 that are registered as
medical patients. There were no sanctions given out in any of the stings, 16 of
which happened in Denver. There is currently no record of any stores selling to
someone underage.
