This week, the team filmed eight individual shows in Santa Cruz, California which ranged from cannabis and pets to female business women in the cannabis industry. The web-based show will debut online in January as separate, 15-minute episodes.

One of the episodes focused on the trending topic of cannabis use for pets. The team interviewed Santa Cruz local Effie Benjamin, who shared the results of giving her dog cannabis for its “aches and pains,” as stated by the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Benjamin noted that she had to get her own medical cannabis card in order to buy special cannabis-infused biscuits for her canine.

The show will also feature an episode featuring a cannabis chef teaching viewers to make a “Bloody Mary Jane” cocktail, as well as a how-to guide on how to inhale cannabis smoke from various pipes and bongs. It will also debut an episode called “Blunt Talk,” which will interview a group of business-savvy industry leaders who are advising a cannabinoid skin care product owners who just started up business.

One of the invited panel leaders, Missy McDill, is one of many women being featured in one of the episodes. McDill states that the reason she started up her own company, Plaid Cannabiz Marketing, was because she saw a great need for it in the industry. “For women and entrepreneurs, it’s an open playing field. There’s a lot of big money that’s going to be coming into this industry, so we all need to work hard that it doesn’t get taken over by the large industries and large segments,” McGill said. “Santa Cruz needs to be very smart about it.”

The same episode where McGill appears also features another female cannabis entrepreneur, Jazmin Hupp, who is the co-founder of Women Grow, assists up-and-coming business people in the cannabis industry.
