Jack in the Box Partners with Snoop Dogg’s Platform to release the MERRY Munchie Meal

Although fast food chains have quietly marketed to cannabis consumers before, Jack in the Box is no longer beating around the bush. Jack in the Box Inc. just partnered with Snoop Dogg’s media platform Merry Jane to launch the MERRY Munchie Meal for a limited time in California for $4.20 plus tax.

It’s just in time for Jan. 1, 2018, when recreational cannabis sales begin in California. “We are about welcoming all of our guests, no matter what they’re craving or why they’re craving it,” said Iwona Alter, chief marketing officer for Jack in the Box.

The box is specifically designed to curb the munchies caused by cannabis and will include Halfsies (½ curly fries, ½ onion rings), two tacos, three Crispy Chicken Strips, five Mini Churros and a small drink.

Last September, a study indicated that cannabis consumers prefer McDonald’s. Last July, a rogue McDonald’s franchise unveiled a billboard that was explicitly marketed to cannabis consumers. There are over 2,200 Jack in the Box franchises, but the company faces stiff competition from McDonald’s and Taco Bell, both of which are go-to places for cannabis consumers.

If you weren’t convinced about the normalization of cannabis in California before now, you can rest at ease. To kick things off, MERRY Munchie Meals will be available at three Jack in the Box locations in Snoop Dogg’s hometown Long Beach. That’s where pre-fame Snoop Dogg sold cannabis on the street before legally selling the plant commercially.

You can find MERRY Munchie Meals at the following locations:

5601 Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA

3032 Palo Verde Ave, Long Beach, CA

652 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA

The limited-time offer is only available from Jan.18-25, 2018.
