How and when did your store start up?
Greenside Recreational opened its doors to the public on October 25, 2014. Our grand opening in Des Moines followed the six-year success of our medical location in Lake City, which now operates as our second recreational location.
What’s the story behind the name of your store?
Today Greenside is a bright representation of its name, a group of individuals with combining traits of the legendary Star Wars dark and light sides . . . “The Greenside.”
Individuals who use their power from more intense and raw emotions, to provide the largest variety of cannabis as well as an experience that is out of this universe to our customers as well our fellow industry leaders.
What does your store offer customers that they can’t find anywhere else?
Today Greenside remains a “Top 10 Cannabis Retailer” that continues to offer the community a unique and personalized experience unlike any other dispensary. With one of the largest selections in cannabis, our beloved friends at Inflorescence have continued to stay on top as one of our best-selling brands. Our diverse staff and unique last chance sale selection remain small dynamics that a customer can’t find anywhere else.
How has the cannabis industry changed since you have been in the business? Where would you like to see it go?
We have been in the cannabis industry going on five years and have witnessed its rapid progress. The industry is changing incredibly in regards to prices, competition and the laws. Our store has faced many of the challenges associated in the cannabis industry and has managed to overcome them through remaining resilient and managing to be adaptable. The greatest joy we share at Greenside is the ability to provide positive change to individuals’ lives every single day through such a powerful, peaceful and uniting plant.
What is the one thing you want customers to know about your store?
We would want all our customers to know that we take pride in providing the most rewarding experience possible for each customer. We aim to gain our community’s trust and build legitimate genuine relationships with them. If I could give advice to potential industry leaders, we would tell them to always stay true to the people and the plant—the rest will follow.
