Giving the Gift of Cannabis

During the holidays, there are plenty of ways to infuse your holiday with cannabis—but it doesn’t start with just buying a gift. It begins with presentation and approach. After you get the gift you want to give, don’t forget to decorate it with a bright and lively cannabis pattern. And while you’re at it, include a greeting card that’s made of hemp and decorated with pleasant cannabis-related messages. These are just a few ways to subtly or not-so-subtly, give the gift of cannabis.

CANNABIS WRAPPING PAPER

Buy it: By far the easiest option, there are companies out there making special holiday-themed cannabis wrapping paper. These unique prints are one-of-a-kind, and although it may not be the craftiest way to go if you’re looking for a project, it’s certainly the most noticeable.

Decorate your own: You know what’s classic? Using the tried-and-true brown Kraft wrapping paper. Originally, this paper is plain but it’s also a blank canvas for your favorite images and designs. Buy a cannabis leaf stamps and green ink, and populate the paper with randomly assorted cannabis leaf prints or create a few larger cannabis leaf stencils to cover the paper. Follow up with a classy green bow, green ribbon and a small cannabis leaf as a gift tag to top it all off.

HOLIDAY GREETINGS WITH HEMP CARDS

Buy it: This is the main time of year when the United States reverts back to a time when snail mail was popular and greeting cards filled the mailboxes. While the trend is still alive and well, maybe it’s time to spice up your greeting card list with a few more modern holiday cards. This year, maybe even try using cards made mostly of hemp! Etsy is a great place to find handcrafted hemp cards too.

Decorate your own: While it would be difficult to make a card made of hemp from scratch, you can choose to use recyclable cards that are blank within. This will give you ample room to come up with “punny” greetings, such as “Happy Holidaze.” You can also decorate it with plenty of cannabis leaves stencils and patterns, or if you have access to fresh cannabis leaves, perhaps use the plant drying method to flatten the leaf so it can fit on a card! (This is probably best reserved for giving to a fellow cannabis consumer in person, rather than sending through the United States Postal Service, which is controlled by the federal government).
