First Legal Cannabis Product Commercial is Hilarious

The first cannabis product commercial is officially live on YouTube, and the backyard barbecue party scene that ensues will make you want to jump through your screen and into the celebration.
The commercial advertises an all-natural cannabis-infused sparkling tonic drink called Legal. Created by Mirth Provisions, Legal comes served in a bottle and is available in four sparkling flavors—Rainier Cherry, Pomegranate, Cranberry CBD and Lemon Ginger. The commercial features all kinds of hilarity with a band rocking out, a woman cleaning the stone patio with paper towels, one man taking his pants off while another guy flips a lawn chair, all the while everyone is sipping on Legal.
The original and hilarious song used in this commercial was written by indie filmmaker, James Westby, who also directed the commercial and is featured playing the guitar. The song talks about the four flavors Legal comes in, and there are characters acting out each of the drinks’ differing effects. The song is overall super catchy with lines like, “Cranberry CBD, you’re the one for me, relaxation is insane with your sweet buzz in my brain,” and “. . . the sparkling tonic made with different strains of chronic.”
The commercial is airing to adults ages 21 and over who live in Oregon or Washington. Marketing provisions have not been outlined for cannabis commercials in recreational cannabis states, so Mirth Provisions decided to create this commercial within the guidelines pertaining to alcohol. For example, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) does not allow alcohol commercials to show anyone actually drinking alcohol. Therefore in the Legal commercial, you will see a lot of dancing and shenanigans, but you won’t see anyone actually drinking the sparkling tonic drink. Although the founder of the company, Adam Stites, appears to come close to taking a drink.
