eazeEaze, the medical cannabis phone application we’ve all come to love, has officially become the highest-funded cannabis startup in the world. The app has raised nearly $25 million in total funding, cementing its position as the dominant delivery app.

“This is a critical time for the marijuana industry. Adult use is on the precipice of becoming legal in California, the largest marijuana market in the United States. Eaze is setting a new standard for accessibility, safety, and professionalism, which makes it best positioned to educate and service the future market,” Keith McCarty, CEO of Eaze, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled with the growth we’ve achieved and are poised to accelerate as the market hits an inflection point.”

Eaze connects patients with board-certified doctors in nearly 100 cities throughout the state of California. The company has expanded beyond its rivals like the delivery app Meadow.

With recreational cannabis on the ballot, the time is critical for industry growth. The California market, which is limited to medical cannabis, could grow from $2.8 billion today to $6.4 billion by 2020. Recreational cannabis, according to early polls, is expected to pass and further propel the industry including apps like Eaze.
