The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) released its updated list of “Drug Slang Code Words: A Reference for Law Enforcement Personnel,” which included a large section dedicated exclusively to cannabis slang words.
The updated list was released as an unclassified DEA intelligence report. The list of slang words includes many cringe-worthy or amusing words that cannabis industry professionals say they’ve never heard before. This includes words like “A-Bomb” (cannabis mixed with heroin) and “Bazooka” (cannabis mixed with cocaine paste). “Bionic” (cannabis mixed with PCP) is apparently a thing, as well. At least 10 cannabis strains were included in the list as well.
The guide “is designed as a ready reference for law enforcement personnel who are confronted with hundreds of slang terms and code words used to identify a wide variety of controlled substances, designer drugs, synthetic compounds, measurements, locations, weapons, and other miscellaneous terms relevant to the drug trade.”
The original list was compiled in May 2017, but since then, new words have come to the attention of DEA officers, which prompted the release of an update. The list, however, is definitely not complete. Some critical omissions from the list might include “lid,” “blunt” or “eighth.”
