Cannabis has been on everyone’s minds in Colorado since its
leap into the recreational market earlier this year. Now referred to as the “cannabis
capitol” of the nation, Colorado has inspired new businesses, new dispensaries and
most importantly, new hope for growth. Now, Colorado welcomes a CNN-based
original series that will document the herb in the state’s most popular ski
towns.
Aptly named High
Profits, the documentary will follow two Colorado canna-business owners, Brian
Rogers and Caitlin McGuire, who are “‘two business-minded, dream seeking,
relentless visonaries’ working to franchise legal recreational marijuana,” according
to The Cannabist. Rogers and McGuire
are the owners of the Breckenridge Cannabis Club (BCC) in Breckenridge,
Colorado. The couple not only owns a number of other retail stores, but view
the Colorado ski and resort towns as the most profitable areas in the state. According
to the owners, they are aiming to become the state’s first “moguls of
marijuana.”
BCC is the newest dispensary on the block in Breckenridge
but it isn’t without its own issues. Like most dispensaries, the BCC has
encountered reluctance from locals regarding its presence in the city. The
truth comes out as dispute between cannabis and city locals continues
throughout the series.
