Celebrate Oktoberfest with Your Favorite Cannabis Beer

Published

on

Cannabis BeerThe month of October is mostly dominated by Halloween decorations, but there are some who think more about the endlessly-flowing tap of freshly brewed beer rather than passing out free candy. That’s where the celebration of Oktoberfest comes into play. Some of these German-inspired events occur throughout the month of October, others over the course of a weekend—and in some places, they couldn’t wait so they held them back in September. Get ready for your own Oktoberfest celebration with some of the most unique amber beverages around—cannabis beer!

Here’s a list of some of the most famous brewing companies that are making their mark on the world with cannabis-infused beer. While these can’t be easily obtained if you don’t live in the state that these products are produced in, maybe it might inspire you to take a cannabis beer-themed vacation instead?

SuperCritical Ale

Lagunitas Brewing Co. in Petaluma, California

Just this past summer, Lagunitas partnered with AbsoluteExtracts to create SuperCritical Ale—a hoppy beer that’s crafted with a number of unique ingredients. Terpenes and oils are extracted from a number of plants, including cannabis to create this beauty. According to The Los Angeles Times, Super Critical Ale utilizes terpenes from Blue Dream and Girl Scout Cookie strains, which is combined with seven other hop strains.

Hemp Ale

Humboldt Brewing Company in Humboldt, California

Using toasted hemp seeds, this is a brown ale that contains a very herby flavor. Humboldt Brewing Company’s Hemp Ale has won numerous awards over the years, and still remains an “original” staple of cannabis in beer.

Two Flowers IPA

Coalition Brewing in Portland, Oregon

Not only utilizing natural hemp seeds for a new flavor, Two Flowers IPA also employs the use of CBD. Coalition Brewing lists at least 35 different local bars that carry this product (although availability is limited). According to the brewery, this contains six percent alcohol, and the flavor of this brew offers a bitter but equally citrusy beverage adventure.

Hemp Gose

Goodwood Brewing Company in Louisville, Kentucky

Available throughout the state of Kentucky, this unique beer includes hemp terpenes for flavoring. Although it’s free of THC, this company actually had to send its brew to a testing facility in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to prove that there were zero parts per billion THC in the product. Hemp Goose is a great choice for those who are fans of tart brews with a hempy, herbal aroma that has a “slight funk on the finish.”

Hemp Hop Rye

O’Fallon Brewery in St. Louis, Missouri

This beer doesn’t have a lot of information about the brewery’s decision to mix hemp seeds and hops, but from O’Fallon Brewery brief description, it’s a one-of-a-kind beer with delicious, nutty flavors. This smooth amber ale awards 12 ounces of refreshment.

DUBHE

Uinta Brewing in Salt Lake City, Utah

Equally non-descript, this Utah-based brewing company makes its beer with hemp seeds. It prizes this concoction as having a unique flavoring that balances tastes of coffee, vanilla and pine.

Cannabis Beer

Euphoria in Czech Republic

Not all cannabis beers are being produced in the United States. Euphoria is a Czech-based brewery that has been in operating since 1871. Using hemp grown in Switzerland, this company defines its beer as the as longstanding approach to infusing beer with cannabis.
