Cannabis GuacamoleToday (October 4,2016) is International Taco Day, and while on its own a taco is a marvel of culinary wonderment, a little cannabis guacamole can really kick it up a notch.

Aside from being delicious, avocados also have a number of health benefits. The fruit contains all 18 essential amino acids, and it’s high in fiber, which makes it easy to digest. Avocados are known for being a source of “healthy fat” and have been linked to decreasing cholesterol and lowering your risk for heart disease.

Cannabis-Infused Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 4 avocados, mashed
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • 14 grams cannabis, ground into a fine powder
  • 2 roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed then minced

Directions:

Preheat oven to 215 °F. Evenly distribute the cannabis onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 90 minutes.

Combine the remaining ingredients into a medium sized bowl. Once the cannabis is done baking, add it to the mixture. Optional: Season to taste with additional salt, pepper, chiles, etc. Cover the bowl and cool in a refrigerator for one hour.

Now add your delicious cannabis guacamole to your favorite kind of taco, burrito, nacho or anything else you want to improve with a little bit of green merriment.

Taco facts:

  • Last year Americans ate over 4.5 billion tacos!
  • That’s 490,000 miles of tacos, which could take you to the moon and back and would weigh a combined 775 million pounds, equal the weight of two Empire State Buildings.
  • The first taco sighting in the United States was in 1905.
  • Tacos predate the Europeans in Mexico and were discovered to be the food of choice by the indigenous folk in the Valley of Mexico. Obviously the Spanish wanted to stake their claim on such fine fare and dubbed them “tacos.”
