In wonderful worldwide legalization news, Brazil
is now allowing the U.S. to import CBD oil and hemp oil
to their country in
certain, qualified situations, specifically to help children who suffer from
seizures.

Brazil continues to be against recreational legalization,
but has recently backed down on their stance against CBD oil because of the
wonderful effects it has in certain medical cases. The Brazilian government was
moved to action by the stories of Harper
Howard
, a five-year-old who lives in Texas, and Anny
Fischer
, a six-year-old from Brazil.

Howard was able to get the medical cannabis she needed
living in the U.S., and as a result, the rare seizure disorder she suffers
from, DLK5, was greatly improved. Inspired by the success of children in the
U.S., Fischer’s family sought the same treatment for their daughter, as she
gained national attention and was the focus of a documentary.

Fischer’s family successfully petitioned the The Brazilian
governmental health surveillance agency, known as ANVISA, to allow import of HempMeds’
Real Scientific Hemp Oil from San Diego to Brazil. The product will be
available to patients who have a doctor’s recommendation, as well as a pass
from the ANDVISA. Even better, the government has agreed to subsidize the cost
of the product so that it can be covered by insurance companies in Brazil,
allowing for even more fair access to the medication.

This is a giant leap forward for Brazil, as well as the rest
of the world. Brazil is the largest country in South America, and one of the
leaders in the world’s economy. By being yet another example of fair cannabis
policy and allowing access to the plant, they have set the standard for the
rest of the world to be more accepting of legalization and further
international change.
