According to United Press International, certain strains and combinations of compounds in cannabis might be able to treat diabetes and other obesity-related diseases. Though the appetite-suppressing effects only lasted a short time, the compounds also had an impact on the level of fat in the body and its response to insulin, a hormone that controls sugar levels in the blood.
