Straumietis Michael “BigMike” Straumietis stands 6’7” and founded Advanced Nutrients in 1999, which has since become the go-to source for superior cultivation products that are primarily used in the cannabis industry. This Easter, the multi-millionaire and his team will be giving back to the community. On April 14, Straumietis, along with his primary philanthropy Holiday Heroes, will help 2,000 homeless men, women and children in Los Angeles, California with donations valued at $100,000.

At the event, donation backpacks filled with essential living necessities, hygiene products and non-perishable items will be given out to those in need. “I founded Holidays Heroes in Bulgaria in 2012 to help feed families who needed it most,” Straumietis told CULTURE. “Not only does Holiday Heroes feed tens of thousands of Bulgarians, it’s a beacon of hope to the Bulgarian people.” The donation assembly will be located at BigMike’s Mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

“Last Christmas, I decided to launch the LA chapter of Holiday Heroes. Because of the great weather in Los Angeles, we have the largest homeless community in the country, so I wanted to do something to help those men, women and children. We gave away 1,500 backpacks filled with daily necessities to families in shelters, and to the men and women on skid row,” Straumietis continues. “This week, for Easter, we’re hitting the shelters and streets again with 2,000 backpacks filled socks, dental hygiene products, blankets and many, many other necessities to help LA’s homeless community.” About 75 volunteers will be there to assemble and distribute the backpacks. The backpacks will be assembled at the mansion then distributed to homeless and needy families throughout Los Angeles.

Straumietis has dominated the nutrient industry and has become highly visible on Instagram with his crew of bikini-clad girls, but now he’s focusing on giving the local community a much-needed helping hand.  “I believe every successful company has a moral obligation to give back to the communities they serve, so I’m proud of the work Holiday Heroes is doing,” Straumietis concludes. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at BigMike’s Mansion on Friday, April 14.
