From his trendsetting release in 1992, Doggystyle, to his cameo appearances on Half Baked, Weeds and Entourage, Snoop Dogg’s exhibited the uncanny ability to make himself an everyday pop culture fixture . . . and a go-to guy when it comes to anything and everything trichome-d. Sure, everyone’s talking about Wiz Khalifa as the “next” Snoop Dogg, but before we send the Doggfather to the old folks’ home, let’s not gloss over Mr. Broadus’ major contributions to cannabis; his achievements span the decades. From his 1992 appearance on Dr. Dre’s landmark album The Chronic to his hotboxing of Twitter’s offices last month as part of his PuffPuffPass Tuesdays (hint, hint, he was promoting his next studio album, Doggumentary, which is scheduled to drop next month), Snoop is a one-man legalization group with the ability to cross the generations and entrench himself in youth culture (a Snoop Adidas shoe was just announced and he’s teaming up with the aforementioned Khalifa for a new movie). Make sure to catch this show in Pomona and make yourself part of Snoop history. (Michael Carlos)
