[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]L[/dropcap]owell Cafe opened doors in West Hollywood, California on Oct. 1 and is calling itself the “first cannabis café” of its kind in the country. The restaurant is designed for both those who are casually curious about cannabis and connoisseurs who are already familiar with infused foods.

Guests will be offered Tableside Flower Service similar to a sommelier, and a Lowell Farms’ Flower Host will educate them on cannabis and provide recommendations. Its first location, on North La Brea Avenue in West Hollywood, will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. PST every day.

“For over a century we’ve been forced to hide cannabis consumption out of public view, but that time is now over,” the Lowell Cafe website reads. “We’re proud to announce Lowell Cafe—America’s first cannabis cafe serving farm fresh food, coffee, juice and cannabis daily.”

The café’s kitchen will be helmed by Chef Andrea Drummer, who infused cuisine with cannabis. “I’m humbled to be part of the team paving the way for this dining experience, and creating a menu unlike anything guests have encountered before. You’ll find fresh seasonal dishes and beloved comfort foods – there’s something for all dietary preferences too. Flavors and senses will be enhanced by offerings from our flower menu,” Chef Drummer stated in a press release.

Lowell Farms cultivates cannabis and operates 350 cannabis stores as well as online sales. A number of celebrities are investing in the company behind the restaurant including Miley Cyrus, Chris Rock, Mark Ronson and Sarah Silverman. Other celebrities such as Noah Cyrus and Halsey have posted Lowell Farms products on social media.

Mark and Jonnie Houston of Houston Hospitality are curating the restaurant events, given their background in creating nightlife experiences. “We focus on design to create ambiance because we want guests to immerse themselves. To elevate our concepts, we also integrate entertainment and/or art at our venues for a multi-sensory and -dimensional experience,” said Mark and Jonnie Houston.
