Herijuana is what happens when America’s hippest hillbillies from Kentucky and Humboldt select their best of the best and cross it for maximal stone. Available at Holistic Health Care Co-Operative in San Jose, these tight flowers are layered with thick trichomes and smell of incense. A strong, 80 percent indica hybrid with a heavy narcotic effect, it’s a potent medicinal cannabis strain. According to lore, Herijuana is descended from “old school” cannabis grown in Humboldt County for over 20 years. Local strain Petrolia Headstash has a long history in the region and grower Montarebel allegedly crossed it with an outdoor Kentucky strain, selecting over the generations for taste, scent and—most importantly—effect. Her rock-hard, golf ball-shaped buds are full of resin and can make a cheap grinder seize up. They release a hashy sandalwood smell that tastes a bit like dark coffee. Very long lasting, Herijuana has been known to treat depression, insomnia, migraines, headaches, poor appetite and chronic pain.
