[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]O[/dropcap]n April 30, at Hall of Flowers, which was held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California, famed rapper Post Malone’s new line of a variety of cannabis products was unveiled. His new product line is called Shaboink and will offer products infused with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), as well as a whole line of papers, grinders, apparel and accessories.
The line of products will be released on July 4—which was chosen because it’s Post Malone’s birthday. This year, the rapper will turn 24 on his birthday which falls on Independence Day.
According to sources at TMZ, “Shaboink” is a slang term for “the act of two people fornicating in a wild spontaneous fashion.” There is no connection to the online dating site of the same name. California-based Hemper Co LLC will provide cannabis for the venture. At the show, examples of cannabis offerings and various vape pen products bearing the Shaboink name were available to examine by attendees. Pre-rolls, edibles and gummies will also available.
Two years ago, Post Malonetold reporters that he quit cannabis after he mistakenly smoked a laced pre-roll, which he called “a wet jimmy,” and it caused him to freak out. His hiatus from cannabis doesn’t appear to have lasted long, or he at least is supportive of recreational cannabis sales. Post Malone’s latest studio album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, reached number 1 on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart. He also has numerous singles reaching number one, and there are no signs of slowing down.
Hall of Flowers attracted Chelsea Handler, Dr. Dina, Redman and Jim Jones, among other celebrities. Adding to other news announced at Hall of Flowers, Cannabis Now, mostly known for its monthly magazine, announced that it would be launching a CBD educational retail store at the Beverly Connection in West Hollywood, California. It will not, however, carry products with THC. Artist Zach “Jesushands” Fernandez, who is best known for transforming the Hollywood sign to the “Hollyweed” sign in 2017 also launched a product line at the event.
