For most, Shia LaBeouf is known for his childhood role in Even Stevens and blockbuster roles in the Transformers franchise. However, in recent years LaBeouf has stepped back from the mainstream and invested himself more in smaller, independent films. The Peanut Butter Falcon is LaBeouf’s best film to date as he stars alongside Zack Gottsagen and Dakota Johnson in a coming-of-age tale of sorts about a young man with Down syndrome (Gottsagen) and his journey to become a professional wrestler. The first feature-length film of writers/directors Michael Schwartz and Tyler Nilson, The Peanut Butter Falcon is touching and beautiful. (Simon Weedn)
