[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]W[/dropcap]hen you hear the word “viper,” you might think of a few things. Viper is a brand of car alarm, and also a sports car made by Dodge. Viper was a common slang word to describe cannabis consumers in Harlem, New York during the ‘30s and ‘40s. It’s also the name of one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, California. But most importantly, a viper is a family of venomous snake that inhabit areas of the world like Australia and Madagascar. So when you see the word “viper” being used, you’ll always think of two things: Power and speed. A strain called Viper Cookies invokes both of these qualities.

Viper Cookies’ parentage is relatively easy to pin down, thanks to its name. CULTURE reviewers reported that it’s the result of a cross between Viper City OG and Forum GSC.

Both of these strains are known for their high THC content and potency, and are useful indicas for evening consumption. Viper Cookies carries on the family qualities of strength, as well as its fast-acting abilities.

It also has the telltale scent of its ancestors, smelling strongly of pine, diesel and other robust but earthy notes, and very subtle hints of fruit. It’s appearance mimics this earthy inspiration with dark green leaves woven intermittently with beautiful purple and orange hues.

As mentioned before, Viper Cookies acts quickly, which makes it an excellent strain to consume during the evening after dinner or before bed. Because of its strength and high-THC count, many patients might use this strain to combat insomnia, anxiety, depression and lack of appetite (thanks to the presence of beta-caryophyllene). Overall, new consumers should be excited but cautious, being sure to consume only small amounts at a time.

Viper Cookies is most prominently found on the west coast, specifically in northern California. If you ever find this strain outside of this area, the time to strike is now! Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for an ultra-relaxing strain with the power to null pain and induce sleep.
