Strain of the Week: Green Poison

Published

on

The color green has been synonymous as an identifying color with poison for decades. One of the first images that comes to mind is the evil witch’s grotesque poison apple (revealed as a green, slimy goo in the general shape of a skull) from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. That’s over 80 years of colorful green influence in film and television! However, when it comes to cannabis, we’re happy to say that a strain like Green Poison is very different from the archaic image of treachery and deceit in popular media.

The first thing CULTURE reviewers noted about this strain was that the name likely came from the idea of “extinguishing pain.” Which is not untrue in terms of this strain’s reliable effects. The parents of Green Poison are unknown, but what we do know is this long-trending strain is a potent indica cross whose aroma is surprisingly perfume-like. Wafting like silky, fresh and floral eau de toilet, Green Poison is tantalizing right out of the packaging.

The strain’s appearance is wild and fire-like, covered with bountiful burnt orange pistils that make it hard to see the green underneath. Its taste doesn’t quite match its name or aroma either. Instead of something dank and earthy, Green Poison offers a surprising flavor of citrus and fruit. On a medicinal level, that whole “extinguishing pain” is a decent assumption of Green Poison’s properties. The strain is often used for full-bodied relaxation. Ultimately, Green Poison is a strain that CULTURE reviewers would gladly keep in their stash for those days when you need a little help winding down from a long day of work. At its best, you’ll be able to get a dose of this strain so you can take your mind off of the fact that COVID-19 has ruined Halloween.
