[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]E[/dropcap]very year, Aug. 26 becomes a day that celebrates canines with National Dog Day. Social Media channels will be flooded with adorable photos and videos of their dogs, honoring the unrivaled companionship that they have experienced, or sharing the humorous moments they encounter. In honor of man’s best friend, we chose this week’s Strain of the Week to be Dawg Walker—a unique little strain that you may not be able to share with your pup, but will help you chill with your buddy nonetheless.

Dawg Walker is an indica-dominant strain born from a pairing of Albert Walker and Chemdawg 91, according to Leafly. Albert Walker is a relaxing hybrid that exudes a very potent smell of skunk and is frequently used to treat conditions like anxiety. Chemdawg 91 is also known for its potent effects, as it’s useful in treating depression and insomnia. Put them together and you receive a strain that takes notes from the flavors and scents of nature.

Reviewers made it very clear that their particular strain sample came all the way from Oregon. The surrounding area is well-known for its lush, green forests, and the cannabis that is grown there also receives the same cultivation treatment. The strain’s scent is of strong pine and musty skunk, but tastes more of pine with a hint of black pepper. It’s appearance is just as beautiful as its terpene profile, offering a natural dark green exterior paired with golden-yellow hairs.

Dawg Walker was described as “unusually chipper” for an indica-dominant strain. It offers a potent and fast-acting head affect, with some experiencing a tingly tongue. After that, it slowly spreads throughout the body. Stress will be a thing of the past, especially when you have your favorite canine by your side as well. Feel depression lift from your mind, and watch anxiety simply disappear.
