Beloved country singer Willie Nelson has long since been one of the top celebrity advocates for cannabis, and now he is offering up an autographed signature acoustic guitar for auction to support the efforts of hemp and farming advocates in Colorado. The guitar will be available through a website called Charity Buzz, and the lucky winner will be announced on Tuesday, October 21st at 1:00pm EST. This is not the first time that Nelson has acted on behalf of cannabis charities, as he heads an active countrywide organization that supports legal initiatives.

Nelson’s guitar is up for auction through the Rocky Mountain Hemp Association, which is an advocacy group in Colorado that supports the local hemp industry, with emphasis on the idea of farm and industrial growing for cannabis and hemp. According to their mission statement on the guitar’s auction page, “The Rocky Mountain Hemp Association is the fastest growing organization in the nation dedicated to the re-birth of industrial hemp in America. We are a mission-driven non-profit which helps connect farmers, processors, manufactures, researchers, investors and policy makers to accelerate the growth of this important industry throughout the United States.”

The guitar up for grabs on charitybuzz.com is a beautiful cedar Yamaha acoustic, with Nelson’s signature across the bottom. The winner receives a deluxe black hardshell case, an extra set of strings, and a Planet Waves brand headstock tuner in addition to the guitar. At the time of the writing of this article, bidding was up to $2,000, with an estimate cap of $10,000. The winning bidder will not only receive this treat of an instrument, but also the satisfaction of knowing that their money went to a good cause. All proceeds go to the Rocky Mountain Hemp Association, in order to support the growing of industrialized hemp in Colorado.
