[dropcap class=”kp-dropcap”]R[/dropcap]epublicans and democrats disagree on nearly everything—including cannabis delivery methods, according to a new report from the Brightfield Group. However, more Americans across the board said that they are obtaining medical cannabis cards and are experimenting with microdosing.

The investigators behind the Brightfield Group conduct market research on cannabis and cannabidiol (CBD). Delaware Online first reported the latest findings on Nov. 1. For the report, researchers gathered data from primary and secondary sources including regulators, dispensary menu audits, interviews with retailers and by comparing the cannabis market with similar markets.

While republicans prefer to be referred to CBD through a licensed doctor, democrats relied on family and friends. Republicans choose cannabis based upon its taste, and democrats said that they choose cannabis based upon its price.

Republicans favored less variety in the number of delivery methods that they prefer. Less than half of republicans said that they were willing to consume cannabis using the smoking delivery method. Democrats, however, said that they were more likely to smoke cannabis and consume it using other methods.

People that identify under different parties also are drawn to cannabis for different reasons. “Republicans’ social language indicates a concern with work and cynical disposition,” a diagram from the Brightfield Group report reads. “Democrats’ social language indicate they are more laid back and emotional.” The report also identified that republicans favor country music and Democrats favor hip-hop, R&B and pop music on social media.

Despite the differences, there were a handful of key points that republicans and democrats agree upon regarding cannabis and CBD. One-third of both parties said that they have a medical cannabis card. One-quarter of both parties said that they are returning customers. About half of all respondents said that they consumed cannabis throughout their life and two-thirds said that they microdose.
