What does your access point offer
patients that they can’t find anywhere else?
We ask many of our patients
this question. They all say the consistency and quality, the overall
environment, and the people make them feel welcomed like part of the family.
Also, most of the crew speaks Spanish, so the patients that speak Spanish like
coming here because they can have a full conversation and know what they are
getting.

What are the biggest challenges
you face in this industry as an access point? . . .  Biggest joys?

In this area, it’s completely different than in Seattle. I think
competition is the biggest challenge, I mean there’s even one in the same plaza
as ours. We have to keep changing things otherwise we will get left behind, so
it makes it a lot of fun having the competition around.

The biggest joy is meeting all the different people that come in here.
So many different characters, so many different stories. Everyone has a
different ailment and it’s awesome to see how they progress through it. We set
them up with a certain cannabis regiment and they get better and better.

What is the one thing you want
patients to know about your access point?

We love to hear feedback. If there’s anything that can improve us as a access
point, we love to hear it! I prefer to hear criticism up front, we don’t get
mad; the staff sits down and talks it over and we make a change. I think we
adapted pretty well over the past 2.5 years. A lot of the time it’s bringing in
new product and that’s what I love to hear.

If someone wanted to open an access
point and get their feet wet in the industry, what advice or counsel would you
give them?

The same advice I tell everyone, and some advice I wish I had followed
would be to start growing first. Start the growing phase first because you will
learn so much from the growing side and everything about the plant. To have
that knowledge once you get that access point up and running—that will help you
a lot.
