Grab some popcorn because these commercials are priceless. The latest rash of anti-cannabis ads are focused on defeating Florida’s Amendment 2. In 2014, a coalition led by Sheldon Adelson funneled 5.5 million towards its No on Amendment 2 campaign. Last year, Sheldon Adelson’s campaign called medical cannabis brownies “the new face of date rape.” If Amendment 2 passed, the list of qualifying illnesses in Florida would include those with epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

During the 1980s, we watched several commercials, courtesy of a Partnership for a Drug-Free America, warning “This is your brain on drugs.” Anti-Cannabis ads nowadays have actually gotten worse. Here’s some of the most hilarious ads attacking Florida’s Amendment 2.

“Search”

A video entitled “Search,” released by Drug Free Florida, is the first to be released in 2016. The video features a man saying “Look at these names—seriously? Kush Mart?” he asks quizzically. “They aren’t even trying.” The video suggests that medical cannabis is a front for drug deals for “anyone, any time, anywhere,” then shows random slides of hippies congregating. Medical cannabis, according to this video, is one big joke.

“10x Stronger”

“10x Stronger” equates modern cannabis with having the strength of 10 beers. This Reefer Madness-style video suggests that we’re dealing with an entirely new beast—potent cannabis. The video contends that beer companies, alternatively, have maintained consistent alcohol levels, providing a safe product.

“Edibles”

Your children are no match for the powerful edibles market, which would flourish in Florida. Edibles apparently have gotten twice as strong since “10x Stronger” was released, because now they’re 20 times stronger, according to this commercial. This video suggests that cannabis-infused edibles will inevitably end up in the hands of your children. Cannabis is “sold next to schools,” it warns.

“Budtenders”

Budtenders are the new target for this anti-cannabis ad. This video features a long-haired, tattooed man dispensing cannabis, then pans over to a clean-cut pharmacist. “That’s not medicine. It’s dope dealers with storefronts,” the video explains.
