Greatest Hits With My Buds
Suburban Noize
Subtle, Suburban Noize Records is not. With the release of Potluck’s Greatest Hits With My Buds—an album/compilation featuring fairly straightforward songs entitled “Humboldt County High,” “Mary Jane” and “Hot Box Anthem”—it’s clear that Kottonmouth King Brad X and the rest of his label heads haven’t swayed from their usual, over-the top leaf-lovin‘ sloganeering and 24/7 lifestyle. Yes, this is an album about herb, by folks who really like herb for fans who really-really like herb. But in all seriousness, for when Phish and the Dead just don’t cut it at your next sess‘, Greatest Hits’ buffet of leaf-friendly rapcore bangers—including tracks from iconic underground acts such as Tech N9ne (who always delivers a killer Rock the Bells set!), Twiztid, Kottonmouth, (hed) p.e. and Chali 2na!—is bound to heat up the party (“Stoner Bitch” and “Smoke the Pain Away,” anyone?) before the last bowl is cashed out.
