Kudos to Yerba Buena Collective in San Jose on its exquisite Peppermint Patty, a gourmet mix of tempered dark chocolate and a six-dose extract of 1.68 grams of dried cannabis in the minty gooey center. Flying off the shelves for $14, the Peppermint Patty is not as sedative as a KannaRoo item, and packs more of smoothing relief that feels like a wave sweeping over the head. Wrapped in foil with a logo, the 4-inch wide patty contains imported dark chocolate. It’s Yerba Buena’s first chocolate item to use tempering—a very difficult process requiring the patience of a skillful chocolatier. Encased in the thick middle, the minty center both enhances and transforms the taste of cannabis into something divine. It’s tempting to gobble the whole thing, but go very slowly with this medicated edible.
