Given its status as a streamed series, the show has much more liberty in its subject matter and dialogue than it would on traditional evening television. This freedom may aid in providing a fresh perspective on cannabis culture and the various lenses through which the story can be told. While films and shows in the past have primarily focused on cannabis consumers, Disjointed showcases the working professional in the cannabis industry. One notable character is a security guard and Afghanistan veteran who suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
