Miley Cyrus is joining other top celebrities including Chris Rock, Mark Ronson and Sarah Silverman to invest in Lowell Herb Co., according to an Aug. 20 press release. The four celebrities will assist the company in reaching its goals to continue to be one of California’s top cannabis brands.
“We are thrilled to have such talented artists join our investment round, and we welcome them to the Lowell family. We are grateful to have such strong support from the creative community, and we are all looking forward to the end of cannabis prohibition,” Lowell Co-founder and CEO David Elias stated.
Cyrus fasted from cannabis for an indeterminate length of time beginning in 2017, but the period of sobriety didn’t last long. Fortunately her mother Tish got her back on cannabis in October 2018—according to Cyrus’s own words. Last January, Cyrus posted a photo on Instagram of herself smoking a joint with the words, “Weed makes you happy.” Ronson, Rock and Silverman are also known to be dedicated cannabis consumers.

There are multiple reasons these celebrities chose Lowell Herb Co. including its recent efforts to right the wrongs of the past. To do its part to make amends for the injustice caused by the “War on Drugs,” Lowell Herb Co. developed a Social Justice Program which prioritizes employment for non-violent cannabis offenders. Through the program, seven percent of the company’s workforce are non-violent cannabis offenders.
The company also plans on opening “the first restaurant and lounge in America where guests can openly consume cannabis,” Lowell Farms: A Cannabis Café. With the recent push in multiple states to provide safe social consumption sites, Lowell Farms is eyeing the new social consumption sector.
According to the press release, Lowell Herb Co.’s pre-roll line Lowell Smokes is the “the number one pre-roll in California.” Boxes of pre-rolls are available in sizes of 14 pre-rolls with 7 grams or 10 mini pre-rolls with 3.5 grams. They are available in multiple varieties including sativa, indica and hybrid. Single pre-rolls and jars of various amounts of cannabis are also available. All products are clearly labeled with potency and other information.
More products are slated for release in 2020.
